  • Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives: transcriber/subeditor (included acting as style editor for Youth Parliament 2000 Hansard and training co-workers in grammar and computer skills)

FCA Peer Editor (part-time), 1999

  • Victoria University of Wellington: working with international students on their formal essay writing skills.

Publishing Assistant/Rights and Permissions Officer, 1997

  • Learning Media Limited: working on a new series of more than 96 children's books with a very tight deadline. Responsible for: editing, project management, and proofreading tasks; writing style guidelines for future series; dealing with copyright enquiries and requests; archiving original artwork files (including hiring, training, and supervising temporary workers).

Publisher's Assistant, 1995–1996

  • Learning Media Limited: assisting the Publisher. Responsible for project assistance and proofreading for development of a new series of children's books; creating a database of artists and ensuring all frequently hired artists had new contracts; archiving original artwork files.
